Gerald P Lacey , WA August 10, 2021 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator MFI2269VEW10 Broken hinge pin on right end cap Although I only needed to replace the drawer support (end cap) on the right side the kit comes with replacements for both sides. I was surprised to see that the air flow adjustment mechanism that is located on the right side end cap was not included. I should mention that I did not disassemble the drawer mechanisms before ordering the end cap(s). The kit contained only the two molded end caps - no fasteners, mechanisms, or anything else. It turns out that this was all perfectly fine. The replacement went smoothly. I pulled out and set aside the two drawers from above to gain access to the glass shelf that is the cover for the lower drawer. I removed it and its front and rear support simply by lifting them out. By removing one screw from the right end cap I was able to carefully wiggle the end cap away from the wall and learned while doing so that the air flow channel at the rear of the drawer compartment came with it along with a small white foam gasket insert located at the end of the channel. The whole thing came out as a unit and could easily but carefully be dismantled, cleaned and parts transfered to new end cap. Reinstallation was simple. Reinstalled the foam gasket, hooked the far end of the air flow channel back into the slot in the rear wall, rotated the entire assembly back into position and reinstalled the one screw. While out of the fridge the intricate air flow adjustment mechanism can be disassembled and cleaned but care must be taken to avoid damage to the snap and pivot points. Finishing up involved reinstalling the front and rear glass shelf supports, the glass, and two upper drawers. Then carefully reinstall the wide drawer and hinged drawer front.
