Rajasekhar R Warrenton , VA August 02, 2015 Appliance: Whirlpool Undercounter Dishwasher GU2455XTSS2 Dishes would't clean on the top rack and bottom dishes were wet I replaced the rear tube that feeds water to the top and middle spinners, and this appears to have fixed the problem. The middle spinner, which is attached to the bottom of the top rack, has a tube that connects to a hole in the middle of the rear tube. This hole has a rubber flap and I noticed that this flap was wide open. The tube under the tray has a straight edge protruding from it at the back. This edge pushes the flap open and I suspect that when the water is flowing, this edge rotates causing the flap to switch between being partly open and fully open. Since the flap was wide open the I suspect the spinning edge wasn't doing its job. This would explain why the bottom dishes came out wet and the top didn't get cleaned). There is a second opening which doesn't seem to do anything useful as far as I could tell. Elaine R Grand Rapids , MI January 09, 2018 Dishwasher wasn't cleaning dishes in upper rack and water wasn't circulating properly Hubby took apart dishwasher, cleaned out the debris inside and discovered that the chopper was broken. Probably had been for a while. Replaced chopper and now the dishwasher works as good as new! Probably took him about an hour total. He's a pretty handy guy, though, and had all the tools he needed on hand. He also replaced the tube running up the back of the dishwasher. Not sure this needed to be done, but the flappers seemed not to be going closed as they should.
