Crystal B Royse City , TX September 09, 2014 The water valve inlet on our maytag refrigerator was faulty so water was dripping into our freezer's ice tray and turning into a huge ice block Living in Texas it is hot all the time, even in fall, so our family loves our cold filtered water and ice. We woke up one morning with water all over the floor in the kitchen. It looked like it was coming from our freezer through the ice dispenser. We turned off the water shut off valve and removed what was now a giant block of ice instead of an ice dispenser from our freezer to melt in the sink. Since we have used AppliancePartsPros.com before, I knew exactly what I needed to do to see if we could fix the problem instead of paying big bucks for someone to come and do it for us. I looked up the Model # for our Maytag refrigerator and quickly realized what the problem probably was. After about 2 days of debating and buying ice at the gas station we ordered the part. Of course, it arrived the VERY NEXT DAY! The really neat thing too was that there was an instructional video next to the part online that showed us how to replace the part, which looked super easy to do. We thought we should wait and do this when we can probably set aside about an hour so we can go slow and not mess this up, which cost us another 2 days of gas station ice, and got us into the weekend...and a pre-season football game. I took a chance and asked my husband, during a commercial break, if he wanted to try to knock this out real quick and he agreed. Everything happened so fast after that it was just a blur...we swapped out the valve inlet and fixed our refrigerator BEFORE the game started back again from commercial!! It turned out the part was identical to what was already there and all we had to do was push down/pull out the 3 hoses and then push in/pull to lock the 3 hoses in the new valve inlet and reattach 2 screws. So easy, and probably saved us several hundred dollars. I love this site!!! Most of that time was spent removing and reapplying the dust cover. The how to video provided here was spot on as well.
