Whirlpool W10113040A Microwave Grease Filter OEM Part

I started by watching the video posted by couple of people on youtube on how to replace a microwave handle. After taking out the liner, I hit a roadblock with unscrewing the handle screw. The grip on the front side had basically melted causing it to be loose, so the screw and the plastic part would rotate together. After trying several things, I gave up and took it to Ace hardware to find an extractor of some sort. Luckily, the guys there used several tools and managed to get the screw out. Once I got it out, I was able to put everything back together with the new handle I got from appliancepros pretty fast. I did break a couple of those flimsy plastic latches on the inside of the door trying to pry the plastic liner out. So please be very careful with that.

I replaced the screen filter (by sliding it to the rear), and then removed the filthy charcoal filter. Then I slid in the new charcoal filter and replaced it with a new screen filter. I repeated the other side. A piece of advice: the screen filter (silver one) comes with one per unit, where as the charcoal filter came with two per unit. If I had known, I would have purchased one charcoal filter (as two come in a pack). In a way it was a win-win situation because I now have a charcoal filter for next time it needs replacing:) Thank you.

The parts were a perfect match and installation was easy.

When the first one broke off, we used black electrical tape at the top to hold the other side on. When the "good" side broke, we knew we were done!! Ordered the new part(s) and we were good to go! Just popped in basically.
