Whirlpool EDR8D1 Everydrop Refrigerator Water Filter 8 OEM Part

Ordered two replacement filters from Appliance Parts Pros which I received in two days via FEDEX. Made the easy replacement in a matter of minutes and was back on line again. I was extremely impressed with the quick service, the on line help available (not needed in this case) and the availability of assistance including exploded parts diagram (again not needed in this case). It is good to know that such reliable assistance is a few keystrokes away.

Easily screwed off the old one and replaced it with the newly purchased one without evening turning off the water to the refrigerator.

I replaced the water solenoid assembly, defrosted the freezer and removed the ice buildup, used the exhaust of a vacuum to melt the remaining ice in the freezer defroster drain. The guidance of the Chat Line was invaluable to me because I would never have found the water solenoid valves nor the drain hose in the freezer. The first effort prior to ordering parts was to turn off and disconnect the water source in the hopes of stopping the dripping into the refrigerator compartment. Then before reconnecting the water source I needed to learn why the drain wasn't working. The total segmented job took over 2 hours with all the mop up etc.
