Joseph A Stone Ridge , NY September 28, 2021 Appliance: Model WHIRLPOOL DU960PWKS1 Occasional failure to drain. Santized light blinking. 20 year old machine was giving problems. Thought about putting in wash and drain kit, but when I disassembled things found the seal (item 4 Pump and motor parts) was pushed out of the inlet base (item 2) and the ceramic ball (item 5) was missing. The hold down screw was very loose and ready to fall out. I later found the ball rattling around in the disposal. Not sure how it made it there, actually. In any event, ordered the ball and drain cover (item 40) as it had been destroyed during disassembly. The seals were on back order, so when I reassembled it I used some DAP all purpose sealer around the rubber seals, which actually looked pretty good. Seal #8 is "not available", anywhere, so I reversed it and coated it as well with DAP. Reassembled everything as other parts looked fine. Let it sit for 24 hours for the DAP to cure. (I would not use very much, just a light coating). I also replace the heater coil, which I had ordered previously. Much to my astonishment, and great joy, it seems to be working fine. The drain issues appear gone as seems to be the apparently intermittent sanitize problem. I had been shopping for a new dishwasher but became discouraged and the limited selection and expense of the items that are available for quick delivery. Hopefully, this will last a few more years. Mike B Tonganoxie , KS May 24, 2020 Not draining well. I used the drain & wash impeller kit. The problem is getting off the 1/4 screw the holds down the impeller. I slaughtered the old impeller trying to remove it. It's easy to put back together but everything has to be tightened very tight. When you put the 1/4' screw back, the impeller has to move freely with no scraping. I had to take it apart three times and tighten everything a little bit more in order to that the impeller could move freely. This website and the accompanying video is amazing. I'll always buy parts form here. Easy to find, order came accurately, reasonable delivery time especially considering COVID. This is a wel run company. Read More...
