Steven L Lauderdale , MS July 13, 2026 Appliance: Model WHIRLPOOL WASHER Washing machine was making a grinding sound when in the wash cycle I replaced the washer's transmission. The replacement was a little bit detailed because you need to remove several parts inside the washer and under the bottom of the unit. The replacement took more time removing older parts and cleaning the washing machine before I could replace the transmission itself. All tools required were on hand except the tool used to remove the large bolt inside the washer drum. This tool was found on Amazon and cost around $15.00.
