Whirlpool WP31001470 Dryer Drum Front Glide OEM Part

First time DIY dryer repair. Videos very helpful! Remove front. Found glides worn thin, paint on drum removed where glides located. Drum, cage and motor turned easily - must be OK. Thirteen year old dryer. Order glides & felt, might as well replace belt and rollers while there. First time order - could not have been easier! Received 2nd day. Replaced parts, reassembled & connected power. Ran for 3 minutes with scraping noise then stopped with burning odor. Disassembled dryer, smelled odor from motor. Could have replaced motor using your part and video but not cost effective with basic model. Time for a new dryer. Will return parts but use your site for other appliance part purchases. Completely satisfied!

Found that the area between the filter screen and blower motor was completely blocked with lint after 30 years of use (go figure). Also found that the glide strips supporting the front of the tumbler were warn and the underlying felt pads had shifted out from under the strips, allowing metal to metal contact. Removed the lint, thoroughly cleaned the inside of the cabinet, replaced the glide strips and felt pads, inspected the motor and rear roller supports, reassembled, and it now works as good as new. I am very impressed with AppliancePartsPros.com. Their online video was helpful. I ordered the parts needed on Thursday night, they shipped Friday, and showed up at my door at mid Saturday. I was able to do laundry by Saturday afternoon.

Replaced front drum glides and rear rollers. Works great now. The repair cost was under $80. The equivalent gas dryer replacement cost would have been around $700. Saved a lot of money!

Installed new rear rollers and replaced the left front drum glide.

New glides, idler had a crack, blower retaining ring was gone. And a good clean out. Like new again for 2 hours and $77.00
