Gordon H Jericho , VT October 18, 2017 Appliance: Whirlpool Undercounter Dishwasher DU1055XTVT0 Broken handle on a Whirlpool DU1055xtTVT0 dishwasher. The plastic latch handle on my son & daughter-in-law's dishwasher. While taking off the control panel to look at the problem, I found out that a couple of the post holes in the control panel were broken. If you need to do this, you'll need a small Allen wrench to remove the top 6 screws from the inside of the door and a screwdriver or other tool to help pop some of the plastic clips on the door latch bracket and control board cover. Pull out the control board and disconnect the ribbon cable from it. Connect the ribbon cable on the new control panel to the control board and place the board in the panel and replace the control board cover. Snap the new handle onto the posts on the door latch bracket, and snap the bracket back into the door. Place the control panel in the door, line up the control panel holes with the door holes and replace the screws. I did a web search on the dishwasher model number to find out about parts and found then on AppliancePartsPros.com. The prices there were competitive with other websites and the site had reasonably good reviews. Standard shipping was really quick for me.
