Scott K Austin , TX February 03, 2019 Appliance: KitchenAid 48" Built In Refrigerator KSSC48FTS03 Defrost heater was not working I removed the lower sheet metal panel at the base of the freezer section and then used a heat gun to melt off all the built up ice, which was blocking air flow to the refrigerator side. I then unplugged the old heating element at each end and "very gingerly" pulled out the evaporator coil a few inches so that I could removed the old heating element.
