Whirlpool WP71003353 Door Hinge OEM Part

Oven door had been acting up for years (difficult to close). One of the hinges finally broke, so I ordered a replacement. Installation was about as easy as it gets. One trick: FIRST get a paperclip (or small nail or something similar) and put it through the hole in the existing hinge that you are not replacing to keep the hinge from retracting all the way later when the door is removed. If you don't, the hinge could pinch your finger or hand when the door is removed and it snaps closed. At a minimum, it will be difficult to put the hinge in the correct position to reinstall the door when you are done. The new hinge comes with a pin in the hole already, and you will remove it (and the paperclip or nail you used on the old hinge) after you reinstall the door. Next, remove the straps on the body of the oven (one screw each), open the oven door slightly, and lift up to remove the door. Remove the inner door from the outer door by removing 5 screws on the top and bottom edges of the door. Remove two screws holding the old hinge assembly in place and lift it out of the inner door. Insert the new hinge assembly and reverse the process to reassemble. I read a couple of reviews that said they had to replace their hinge receptacle with a newer version to work with the new hinge. I ordered one to be safe but didn't need it.

Very simple fix. Searched YouTube for "replace oven door hinge" to get a general idea of how to do the job. My oven is 15 years old and after replacing the hinge the door did not sit correctly. Called the help desk and was advised to also replace the hinge receptacle. This made a big difference!
