Robert B Blanchardville , WI August 27, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer WFW70HEBW0 Our 3 year old whirlpool front load washer overfilled and when door unlocked during the cycle the door opened and flooded our floor After watching a number of videos and reading a lot of trouble-shooting discussions online I had ideas of what to look for as possible causes of the overfilling of the drum. I found the water level pressure hose had worn through after contacting the rotor. After temporarily taping the hose, I found the service manual inside the machine so I ran it through it test sequences without any error codes. Suggesting the hose and not the sensor or inlet valves were the problem. I ordered parts last Sunday and installed them today (Saturday). I got a new hose and also replace a broken hose clip though I'm not sure it did any good at holding things in place, it is friction-fit into the back of the plastic drum assembly which moves a lot during the machine's operation. It even popped out while I was putting the hose back in place. So upon reassembly I added two loose zip ties to retain the hose away from the rotor in case the clip fails again. I hope our machine was a fluke otherwise I hope the routing of the hose has been changed for the better. While the unit was apart ( the dryer is stacked on the washer), I decided to clean the pre-pump clean-out which was much more of a challenge because the entire front of the machine needed to be removed along with the door seal. It would sure be nice if it had its own door or there was at the very least a lower access panel. I noticed other models have a door or access panel so that is something I'll look for new time we purchase a front loading washer. This part of the process was much harder than fixing the hose which only required the top and back of the machine to be removed. Mary P Sun Lakes , AZ May 26, 2015 F08 e01 error code on whirlpool duet steam washing machine Replaced pressure sensor hose. The hose is located in the back of the washer on side with the drain hose. You access the hose by removing the rear cover. The hose was installed incorrectly at the factory and a hole was worn into the hose over time as the drum spun. Other symptom was over filling of the tub and subsequent leaking of water onto the floor. Ryan B Lodi , CA October 06, 2015 Appliance: Model WHIRLPOOL DUET FRONT LOAD WASHER F08 e01 error; water leaking from bottom of washer Remove top and back panel. Black hose goes from bottom of barrel to pressure switch at top left of washer (looking at back of washer). Remove and replace hose and clip. Make sure hose is clipped into clip coming off of discharge hose at the top left side of machine and then press clip on hose into back of washer barrel. Replace back and top panel. This hose gets loose from its clips and ends up rubbing against the spinning part of the barrel rubbing a hole in the hose. This causes the washer to not know what the water level is and either shows an error or keeps filling the barrel causing leaking. Tracy D Manassas , VA July 19, 2019 Appliance: Model NOT SURE Front loading washer overfilling 1. Checked the internet to diagnose the problem. 2. Discovered that there was a hole in the air pressure hose. It was burned through Because the spinning drum had burned a hole through the hose caused by friction. 3. Replaced the hose. Very easy replacement and new hose part had a clip that made it easy to install it away from the spinning drum to keep it from friction burns in the future. 4. Since I already had the back panel off I took the time to replace the 2 shocks as well. This will help prevent the drum from shaking too wildly as well Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers
