Whirlpool W11194438 Refrigerator Water Filter Housing OEM Part

Replaced housing. That was simple but finding directions in how it I remove top of cabinet was time consuming. After two hours of searching I finally found one article that explained why there were no screws to remove.

Shut off the water supply and power to the unit. I removed perishables to give myself room to work. I removed 2, 1/4" screws by the water filter and carefully pried off the the top right cover near the water filter using a putty knife to expose the wiring and water lines. I used a 1/2 wrench to depress the water line value to remove the supply lines (I used blue tape to remember/code how to put them back on) from the reservoir and the water filter housing. I cut the nylon ties securing the reservoir to the cover to remove the reservoir. It is a bit bulky because it is full of water. Be patient and careful and give yourself and 1 hour plus in time.

I replaced the filter housing and the tank supply. A bit difficult but not terrible.

Replaced the housing and reservoir! Big kudos to the customer service rep that helped me. She sent all necessary instructions on how to change.
