Description

The Ice Maker is an OEM part for Whirlpool bottom freezer refrigerators. Located inside the fresh food door compartment, it is designed to automatically produce batches of ice to ensure plenty of chilled water, drinks, and snacks. This ice maker features adjustable settings to meet daily needs.

Symptoms of a failing ice maker may include:

  • Reduced ice production or intermittent cubes   
  • Ice clumping together instead of separate pieces
  • Ice maker mechanism continually running

Causes relate to normal wear of moving parts over years of use among harsh temperature fluctuations inside the fresh food door. Mineral buildup can also interfere with sensitive components.

Kitchenaid ice maker failed just out of warranty
