Whirlpool WP67005949 Keyboard, Utah OEM Part

We turned off the circuit breaker. We then removed the light cover and then the control panel. We disconnected the Keyboard, Utah, plugged in the new one and turned the breaker on to see if everything worked. We realized that we did not need a new jazz board so that is being returned. The old Keyboard was removed, the new one attached and all the parts were put back. The frig works fine now at the recommended settings of zero and 38F.

We replaced the "Keypad, Utah". Part #AP6010471. Wasn't too difficult but anyone doing it should be very careful when removing the keyboard ribbon cable from the control board. One of the prongs broke off from our control board when removing the keyboard cable socket but, luckily, we were able to solder it back on ok and the repair worked fine. The keyboard is glued on so you'll have to remove it slowly and then line the new one up carefully when replacing it. We downloaded a KitchenAid repair manual KAR-16 off the internet which helped with removing the light / keyboard module (very easy) but didn't detail removal of the glued on keyboard. We figured that out on our own.

After describing the problem, we were given a diagnosis and told what part to buy. We replaced the keypad control panel. We got a great price on the part, explicit directions on how to fix it, and I am very impressed. Simple replacement

Ordered and replaced several parts that were broke, drawer lid, door guide for French doors, and the control key board. All were easy to install and now works properly.
