Hemant P Arlington , VA September 12, 2014 Appliance: Model MAYTAG MODEL PTB1952GRQ About 9:30 pm on a friday night two weeks ago i noticed my freezer part in the refrigerator was not holding the cold and ice cream had become liquid! I have a Maytag Model PTB1952GRQ Serial Number 11003378AJ Top / Bottom refrigerator. It suddenly stopped working and would no longer be freezing / cooling as a result of a failure of the compressor not starting. I was very upset and went to the web site of appliancepartspros.that had a lot of helpful information available. I also visited many other sites and researched / read and looked at all kinds of information on the we sites. A lot of information was pointing to the fact that the Overload/Relay on my compressor must have given up and got damaged as a result. I went ahead and ordered that part on Sunday. All this time till I got the part delivered to me by Tuesday I made sure not to open the refrigerator too much. I disposed off as much food and items I had in the freezer section and refrigerator that I suspected that had gone bad or was no good to keep. I went ahead and read all the instructions and web site tips on how to go about replacing these parts that I had received and within about half an hour I was able to complete the repair. I then turned on the power to the unit and turned it on by setting both the control dials in the refrigerator section to number seven the highest. As soon as I did that a very quiet and smooth starting sound came about from the rear of the refrigerator that meant that the compressor had kicked on with no problems at all. This made me feel so happy and I then kept monitoring the temperature in both the freezer and the refrigerator. I filled both trays for ice and observed them becoming frozen and ice forming. This is when I felt that the job was a success. Today is now Friday and it is still working fine. I am so happy to find a web site that was able to provide me with reliable information to figure out my problem and also supply me with the parts with accurate and good details to finish the repairs. I will use them all the time. Read More... 13 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers

James P Escanaba , MI November 07, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator MTF2155GRW The frig and freezer would not cool! I spent some time looking at the back of the compressor by the relay and saw that it had burn marks and one of the wires had burned off. I logged on the AppliancePartsPros.com and looked up the parts and looked for others that had similar problems. I had a version 10 which was about 15 years old. I did find some info enough to order parts, the difficult part of the process is that Overload relay on my compressor was a single part and the replacement was 3 different parts. The parts arrived and I got no instructions as how to convert to the new parts so I logged back on an found a very helpful video that was close enough to my compressor that I could do the replacement. It is important to note that wire colors are not consistent so paying close attention to where the wires are connected is important. After some work I was able to get everything hooked up and the Freezer and Refrigirator are working normally. I should note that I also changed the Run Capacitor also. Not sure it needed it however I would suggest doing it with this version of compressor. David H El Paso , TX May 27, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator PTB1949GRW The refrigerator compressor would not start Replaced the existing overload with new overload/relay kit and cleaned condenser coil with compressed air. Reconnected everything back, plugged it into receptacle and the compressor started. Work better than before. Always a good idea to clean condenser, helps refrigerator run better.
