Everett P Lilburn , GA September 03, 2014 The fan control switch button quit "popping up" I ordered a new fan control switch button to replace the old one. When it arrived I noticed that the "pop up" feature was not working on the new switch. I called Appliance Parts Pros and told them the control switch was defective. The representative said that they would send a new part, refund the shipping charges and give me a discount on my next order! That's REAL customer service! The part arrived in two days. I installed it and it worked perfectly! Read More... 9 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
Andrew T Verona , WI September 11, 2016 Appliance: Jenn-Air Electric Downdraft Surface Unit JED8430ADB "dimmer" on dual burner switch didn't work anymore The instructions on the new switch did a pretty good job of accounting for differences. However, there's one thing in the instructions that threw me off, and by the sounds of it others here too: the piggyback connection to L2. The instructions say those red wires need to be separated. In the case of my cooktop, it was a piggyback connection but a different setup: it was just power in, sharing to the right rear burner switch. So that stays as it is on L2, and the other single red wire that goes to the element limiter goes to 2. The other thing that wasn't clear to me was whether to use a jumper (provided), since my old switch didn't have it. Looking at the diagram, I put it on since all that jumper does is give power to the switch's "on" light. Everything works great. I took extra care to note the wire colors and pole labels before pulling out the old switch, and I'd suggest you do the same. Robert K Calistoga , CA December 31, 2015 Missing air vent grill on a ten year old jenn air cooktop bought used Searched parts diagram found that the grill was no longer available. I then crosschecked parts list of other brands. Found that the Maytag company sold the same unit and they had the part under their brand. The color of the grill was different than the one Jenn-Air cooktop sold with the unit when it was new. But I feel it looks better and the fit was identical.
