Whirlpool WP8538949 Washer Timer Knob OEM Part

I diagnosed the problem, identified faulty parts, and replaced those components.

I replaced the Timer and the water fill valve. I am a good mechanic, but it would have taken much longer to replace the parts without the repair videos that I downloaded to my laptop. It would have been difficult to find the hidden screws and release tabs necessary to remove and replace the defective parts. I had the videos playing on my laptop as I was making the repairs.It was just like having an appliance serviceman standing next to me. Obtained new knob from Appliance Parts Pros and replaced. The barbed timer stem has a center piece that must be pushed in toward the controls. If you don't accomplish this the new knob may be broken upon installation. It should slip over the two barbed ends with very little effort.

Video was helpfull. Easy to replace

Watched a you tube video and able to safely remove the piece and replace it. Otherwise, I likely would’ve broken something else trying to remove it because it wasn’t as easy as pulling it off.
