Whirlpool W10859575 Magnetron OEM Part

I am not an appliance repair man. I am a general surgeon. I went online and researched the problem. The consensus was that my magnetron and diode were the most likely culprits. To replace my microwave with a comparable model would have cost at least $800. The diode and magnetron cost around $170. I watched a few videos on YouTube demonstrating how to do the repair safely and I felt like I could do it. I ordered the parts on a Monday evening and had them Wednesday. The only difficult part of the repair was getting the heavy appliance down from over the range and gaining access to the cavity that contains the parts. The parts were somewhat difficult to remove due to the tight spaces that I had to work in to access the screws holding it in place. I was able to get it done though and I had a working microwave in under two hours from the start of the job.

Replaced magnatron and wire-vltg. First magnatron I ordered came in had damaged frame and tip I decided to install it any way to see if it worked, unfortunately it didn't. I called appliance parts pros and explained what the problem was, the women was very nice and accommodating she sent one out the very next day. I installed the new one and it worked perfectly. It saved me over $400 to replace this particular microwave. I was very happy with the experience of using appliance parts pros.

We installed the new magnetron and diode and it is back up and running! Our microwave and oven are a single wall unit which made the repair a little trickier. We didn't take the whole unit out of its spot. I braced myself in front of it and we tilted it out while my husband did the repair. All in all, it was pretty easy!

Replaced the Magnetron, Capacitor, and the Diode. Able to repair $1400 microwave with parts that cost $218.54. Thank you ApplianceParts Pros. Watched trouble shooting videos on Youtube and found that these parts needed to be replaced.

Ordered the top 2 likely most parts causing the problem based on troubleshooting diagnostics from AppliancePartsPros and other on-line websites (magnetron & diode/rectifier). Received parts a bit earlier than estimated delivery and installed. Most difficult part of the process was removing oven from over-range mounting location. Second difficulty was achieving alignment/repositioning outer skin surrounding the oven after parts installation. Both problems were satisfied by having more available hands from helpers.
