John S Granite Falls , MN September 19, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Undercounter Dishwasher MDB4409PAS0 Dishwasher would start begin to fill with water then there would be 4 5 short "hums" or "buzzes" it would then shut off and drain what water had filled Figured it was either the capacitor and/or motor. Ordered both parts to be sure. tried changing the capacitor first; same problem. Replaced the motor (leaving the new capacitor in place). Unit now works fine. Overall an easy fix once you get the washer out and tip it on its side or top to get access to the motor area.
