Dishwasher Pump

This was to address an E:09 fault code on a Bosch dishwasher. I swapped out the Circulation motor and heater assembly. The video given on APP.com was for a different model, but more or less the same. The video gave me confidence enough to order the part and attempt it. The significant difference was that in the video, the assembly is easily accessible from the bottom of the unit. I've opened sump housing to check for clogging but it was clean. When I removed check valve to inspect it I've found out that the round part of the valve was missing so I figured it might've blocked the water exit at drain hose or something like that. So I pulled the dishwasher out to get a full access to drain hose connector and the pump. I spent a lot of time taking apart and cleaning the drain pump and hoses in my Bosch dishwasher. I still got the error that the drain pump wasn't right. So, after doing some research, I learned that the motor might be done and that seemed to be the only solution. Remove upper and lower baskets for access. Remove 4 Torx screws holding drain/filter assembly, accessing last screw by rotating the water duct clockwise. Be sure to first un-clip the water duct at top and rear of dishwasher so that it can be moved. (Take the opportunity to remove accumulated deposits behind the water duct). I viewed youtube videos and followed the instructions on how to determine the cause of the problem. I cleared the lines and poked my fingers in to check for obstructions. But in the end, the drain pump was the problem. The pump came in the mail the next day. The job required the pump and only one of the hose clamps as the original setup has one single ear clamp which can be removed with wire cutters and a standard one which I re-used. The water just sat in bottom of the tub, but the dishes never got wet. The water would drain out at the end of the cycle. I took a chance that it was the circulation pump and not the control panel since everything else seemed to be working. I replaced the circulation pump &motor and the problem was solved. The hardest part was getting the DW out of the cabinet since it was a very tight fit due to the floor tile. The job of replacing the part only took about 15~20 minutes thanks to the repair... After inspecting screen and drain hose with no obvious cause, replaced drain pump. Removal of the pump was very straight forward. 3 screws, 2 electric connections, and 1 hose clamp was all that was needed. Read more

ORDERED NEW SUMP AND DIVERTER MOTOR, THE SHAFT ON THE DIVERTER MOTOR FELT A LITTLE ROUGH SO I WENT AHEAD AND REPLACED IT, THE SUMP REPLACEMENT WENT FAIRLY EASY. HAD TO MAKE A TRIP TO THE HARDWARE STORE FOR A HOSE CLAMP. ONE HOSE ON THE SUMP HAS A CLAMP THAT IS NOT REUSEABLE. YOU SHOULD ALSO ORDER THIS CLAMP. IT IS NARROW AND A REGULAR HOSE CLAMP WILL NOT WORK. Read more

Replaced the pump motor. Works great again. I saw the picture of the part on the website so I knew I was getting the right part and watched the video to see if there were any shortcuts. Easy job. Read more

Removed two securing screws from side of dishwasher. Pulled out of cabinet careful to not over extend supply/drain/electric connections. Layed unit on side, removed two clamps from each end of drain pump as well as one electrical connection, removed bad pump, replaced connections and clamps, electrical connection. Ran a cycle while out of cabinet to ensure no leaks, replaced unit and screwed back into cabinet. Whole thing took 20 minutes. Read more

Pulling the dishwasher, it was obvious we had a slow leak under it. We had a slow leak from the diverter motor area in the sump. Sure enough, it looked like the gasket around a shaft had to be the culprit. The gasket was attached to the sump assembly, or the motor. We pulled the dishwasher out, took it to the garage and set it up on sawhorses and planks so we could access the bottom. We plugged it in and filled it with water and ran a quick cycle. As soon as the circulation pump kicked on water came spraying out from the rubber boot in the diverter assembly. It appears that there was a factory defect in the hose. Unfortunately, the water got into the pump motor over a few loads and was eroding the brushes on the motor. We decided to replace it as well.... Read more

Dishwasher died after 1 year and two weeks after purchase! The Bosch tech arrived and recommended replacing the drain pump (as well as cleaning the filter in vinegar). Ordered pump from APPros and it arrived THE NEXT DAY! Took out old one.... installed new one... and it worked! The new pump fit perfectly. Read more
