Ben J Rio Rancho , NM September 13, 2014 Shattered glass on the oven door I was attempting to tighten the handle on my oven door which required removing the outer door panel. As I was very carefully setting the door down on my tile floor, one side slipped from my hand and the corner dropped literally only about a half-inch onto the floor and the glass shattered. My immediate thought was how much it was going to cost to replace my whole stove, but I was able to find the part in stock from AppliancePartsPro.com for a better price than anywhere else. It was shipped out the next business day and arrived when they said it would. Meanwhile, I watched the video on AppliancePartsPro.com's website and followed the directions for removing the oven door and the few screws that were required. Once I received the new part, it was simply a point of putting it into place and screwing everything back together. The only challenge was aligning a couple of brackets, but that only took a couple of tries. I have ordered parts from AppliancePartsPro.com before and am so impressed with how they get the right part to you in such a short amount of time. Being able to do it myself (this time with padding under the door) saved me a lot of money over having a repairman do it for me. Dj R Prior Lake , MN January 13, 2015 Broken glass door I recently purchased my home and was going around doing the little repairs that needed to be attended to. I found the handle on the oven was loose. This is when I learned a valuable lesson. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE HANDLE SCREWS. I shattered the glass door. This part was a perfect replacement. Looks great. James K Colorado Springs , CO May 04, 2014 Appliance: KitchenAid 30" Built-In Electric Double Oven Thermal Convection Lower Microwave Convection KEMC308KSS01 Broken outer door panel glass Carefully replaced it with the new outer panel. The old one broke while I reattached the door handle (the screws that attach it fell out) so I was very careful while attaching the door handle to the new panel. It would have been helpful to know how tight the screws should be but I could not find that information. Raynard C San Francisco , CA January 03, 2016 Shattered front oven door glass (kitchen aid) Found appliancepartspro.com while googling how to fix. You can find helpful youtube videos. Better to remove the protective film wrapping on new panel after you've completed the job. To start, remove oven door. My door was quite sturdy even with front glass shattered. Flip the latches at each hinge to 90 degrees, with oven door opened half way, firmly lift and pull oven door away from oven, the hinges should freely detach from oven, and oven door comes out. (Note: door weighs about 25 lbs.) Lay door down on protected surface, handle side up; remove 4 screws, 2 on top and two on bottom of door (which secures brackets that support the panel at bottom). Once outer door panel is removed, remove the 4 screws of oven handle from old panel; put handle on the new panel and hand tight the screws (don't over tighten otherwise you might damage the new panel). With oven door laying on flat surface, place new panel handle side up, onto the oven door; secure top 2 screws first, then secure the bottom 2 brackets. Insert the oven door back into place.
