Robert G Richmond , VA January 15, 2018 Appliance: Model MAYTAG MAV6451AWW ATLANTIS VINTAGE 2002 Severe vibration during washer spin cycle. I followed the Appliance Parts Pro's advice videos for the Maytag MAV6451AWW Atlantis washer on replacing the snubber ring and the suspension springs. Everything went just fine except replacing the two rear most suspension springs. None of the videos illustrated REINSTALLING the REAR springs which is extremely difficult because you can't get enough leverage with your arm extended. Observing my frustration, my wife recommended taking off the back side. You can't simply take off the back, because the right and left sides and the back are one piece. LESSON LEARNED: Follow the video to remove the front, then use duct tape to secure the lid to the left and right sides, and then remove ALL the screws around the base after removing the pump, motor and all hoses including the small water level sensing hose attached to the left rear of the tub. Make sure the motor wiring harness is unhitched from the base clip. Put on gloves because the edges are sharp, and then get your wife to help lift the remainder of the frame up and off the base. This makes removing the suspension springs and replacing them a piece of cake. Doing this originally would have saved hours of frustration. Eric H Bullhead City , AZ February 25, 2022 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer PAV3240AWW Violent shaking during any spin cycle I previously replaced the 6 springs on the tub. I replaced the 'snubber' ring. I replace the drive belt. But the problem was the same. So this time, I replaced the auto adjusting rear feet. I replaced the stationary front feet. Yet, the problem remained. My neighbor repairs manufactured homes. He said the floor where the washer sits, needs to be structurally strengthened. He said the washer is not the problem, it is fine. He told me to move the washer outside, to my concrete patio, and wash a load of clothes. I did. And the washer ran like it was brand new. Not even the slightest bit of shaking. My neighbor is going to help me structurally reinforce the floor in my manufactured home, where the washer sits. The washer is 20 years old. I do believe it was correct of me to replace the parts that I did. I think the 'climate change, energy efficient' washers of 2022 are awful. I hear their expensive 'computer circuit boards' die after a year. Happy washing. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers, Socket Set, Wrench Set
