Robert J Schererville , IN July 02, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Dishwasher MDB8600AWQ Dishwasher would fill then shut off when restarted it would try to fill again overflowing I replaced the float switch. It was an easy enough repair. I didn't have to remove the dishwasher to do the work. The part is accessible from behind the front skirt. The only problem was there is not a lot of space to work in. Getting the fastener off and on requires a stubby nut driver. I used a flexible extension instead. I had to feel for the nut as the bottom of the door blocked my view. A ten minute job and the dishwasher is back in service (for half the cost of my local parts place) While I was at it (and saved $$)I replaced some of the broken plastic clips on the plate tines.(was using twist ties as temp fix)Thanks Read More... 24 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers

Brooks B Newcastle , ME April 27, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Dishwasher MDB9750AWW Worn out utensil basket and tine clips broken The lower shelf of my Maytag dishwasher was showing it's age and the utensil basket had several holes in the bottom. Ordered the replacement Utensil basket and that was a snap. Then the tine clips that hold the plate tines up, had broken on the front side of the lower rack. I ordered the wrong part at first as there are two styles and look very similar. (pull the old part and use as a reference when ordering online- had I done that, I would saved myself some hassle of having to re-order the correct part) Once I got the right tine clips I put those in and I am back in business. Got everything going for about $30 and 10 minutes work that should keep me for a while longer.
