Whirlpool 12002211 Pulley & Clutch Assembly (Dryer Drive) OEM Part

Actually the 2nd time to replace clutch, first one about 8 years ago. Priced clutch at appliance/repair shop near where I live. Price for part around $235.00 at shop, then I looked at Appliance part pros and same OEM part was around $175.00. Use flat scraper to release the two clips holding the top down, then a nut driver, 5/16 I think, to remove two top clips and front of machine lifts off. Lean machine against wall for bottom access to remove nut holding on clutch. reverse process and your finished! "BLESSING IN DISGUISE", hose had HUGE bubble in it and was ready to break!!! Would not have seen hose if it wasn't for the "DC",darn clutch, reading on the washing machine LED screen. PS, part ordered on Thursday and arrived on Sat!!!!

As others suggested, it went well. Had trouble getting clutch up high enough. Had to re - work it 3 times. It saved us $350 vs what repairman quoted! Great service and value!

So simple answer I replaced the clutch. Honestly easies ting to do is to remove the tub. 1. open top, remove the front panel 2. Unplug motor, remve motor (reduce weight) 3. remove balance sensor 4. take the drain hose off. Watch there will be water have towels ready. 5. Undo the rear hangers, take the side brackets off and remove the tank. 6. not remove pulley & clutch may need to apply pressure to shaft. All done put it all back together.

Replaced the pulley/clutch assembly.
