Gary M Thomaston , CT September 09, 2014 Appliance: Model AV6800AWW Clutch broke on maytag neptune washer Actually the 2nd time to replace clutch, first one about 8 years ago. Priced clutch at appliance/repair shop near where I live. Price for part around $235.00 at shop, then I looked at Appliance part pros and same OEM part was around $175.00. Use flat scraper to release the two clips holding the top down, then a nut driver, 5/16 I think, to remove two top clips and front of machine lifts off. Lean machine against wall for bottom access to remove nut holding on clutch. reverse process and your finished! "BLESSING IN DISGUISE", hose had HUGE bubble in it and was ready to break!!! Would not have seen hose if it wasn't for the "DC",darn clutch, reading on the washing machine LED screen. PS, part ordered on Thursday and arrived on Sat!!!! 15 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
