Chris P Houston , TX May 03, 2014 Whirlpool refrigerator stopped cooling clicks and buzzes were heard every couple of minutes Googled the symptoms and realized it was probably the Start Relay. To check, I unplugged the refrigerator, took off the back panel, and pulled the old start relay off. I shook it and it rattled, like something was broken inside. That was the sign that it did indeed need to be replaced. Looked up the part on www.appliancepartpros.com and found it. Ordered it and it was here two days later. Replaced the old one and the refrigerator started cooling again. Very easy fix that saved me calling a specialist or having to buy a brand new refrigerator. Richard E Burke , VA June 12, 2014 Freezer fan ran but compressor would not kick in I isolated the problem to two possibilities, failed starting relay or compressor failure. Chose to order the cheapest part e.g. The relay and proceed from there.Relay arrived by date promised. Had a bit of difficulty removing the outer case. When I pulled the old relay, it sounded like a baby's rattle....what a great sound! Plugged in the new relay, replaced the cover, put back the cardboard backing then turned it on and cooled it down. Working flawlessly since the repair. I estimate at least a $100 savings over calling a repairman.
