Whirlpool WPW10662129 Refrigerator Run Capacitor OEM Part

I have a Kitchen Aid side by side refrigerator/freezer which is 8 years old. One day it just stopped cooling. At first I was just going to junk it and purchase a new one. However, I took off the lower back cover and noticed the compressor was not running. I knew from experience that these compressors need a starter capacitor and relay and it is not uncommon for these parts to fail. I looked on the Internet for a video which showed how to remove the parts. I also found a video which showed how to test the compressor. After removing the capacitor and relay it was obvious the relay had burned out. Since the compressor checked I purchased a new capacitor and starter relay for under $60. Now the refrigerator cools better than ever.

I unplugged the unit, removed the back cardboard panel and replaced the compressor starting device, and also the capacitor. Plugged the unit back in and the compressor came on and immediately began cooling. I was so happy (proud of myself) for diagnosing the problem and fixing the unit. Replaced capacitor and starting relay on the compressor in 15 minutes. The problem may have just been the capacitor, but rather than trying that and if it didn't solve the problem i would have had wait for the relay.

Replaced the starter and capacitor, 30minutes, $60.... Bam!!! Fixed

The motor would come on for about 5 seconds then stop. Freezer would not work. I googled the problem and found a lot of answers. One answer seemed to fit me the best. I called Whirlpool and they would only sell parts to an authorized repair service....the nearest authorized repair was more than 50 miles from me. Using the model number, I googled again for the parts and found the part number. Googled AGAIN for the part number and found Appliance Parts Pro had what I needed. I called Appliance Pro and the lady helped me a lot...shipped the parts to me...and they arrived the NEXT day using their standard shipping rate. The part was my answer. A simple replacement of the capacitor and relay overload switch had me running like new in no time. I am a senior and a high ticket repair bill would have hurt me a lot.
