David S Fairport , NY August 13, 2016 Appliance: Model 106.78942890 One of the front cabinet rollers on my kenmore refrigerator was broken in half Before ordering part I was a little apprehensive about doing the job, since I'm generally alone. But after reading on your site that an 80 something guy did it, and getting a $325.00 estimate from Sears, I decided a 72 year old could do it too. Replaced both front rollers. Following the step by step instruction sheet was very helpful. Since I was working by myself and wanted to move the refrigerator out of the kitchen (to not damage my new flooring), I removed upper and lower doors. This made the box lighter, enabled it to fit thru a doorway, and I wanted to change the swing anyway. I tied the box to a hand truck for moving. Removing doors is not necessary for the repair. My 4 corner bolts are 1/2" sheet metal screws, rather than 5/16" per instructions. Per instructions, "Roll the base plate assembly 1/2"" is a little different than what I had to do. After removing corner screws, I was able to easily pry the base plate back about 3/4". The box was easy to tip, and I slid two 2x4s under the box to hold it up, doing one side at a time. Once the base plate falls away from the cabinet, the rollers are simple to replace. This was also a good opportunity to clean the unit. I've repaired other appliances after watching Appliance Parts Pros excellent videos - a video on this would be nice for others.
