This evaporator coil circulates refrigerant inside the freezer cabinet to absorb heat and support the refrigerator's cooling cycle. Replacing a damaged or corroded evaporator restores efficient cold production and reduces frost buildup. What it does:

Circulates refrigerant through the freezer compartment to absorb heat and enable cooling.
Helps maintain proper temperature by transferring heat from the cabinet to the refrigerant.
Commonly associated with symptoms like poor cooling, excessive frost or ice buildup in the freezer, and long or continuous running of the compressor.
Works with the freezer fan and defrost system to distribute cold air and manage frost accumulation.

Install notes:

Repair requires appliance power to be disconnected and refrigerant system access.
