John D Huntington Beach , CA January 01, 2018 Worn top burner igniter Replaced old igniter. also purchased new screws for burner and igniter assembly since old screws were corroded from spilled food/fluids etc over the years. made the installation much easier. If you need to replace a worn igniter, do yourself a favor and go to hardware store and get matching replacement screws or buy new with igniter. Now my front right burner lights every time with just a click or two. Very pleased. John L Bakersfield , CA February 22, 2020 Appliance: Whirlpool Free Standing Gas Range SF362LXTB0 Gas stove-one burner that was bad. I looked on line for a parts manual, then typed in a part, and this site came up. They had all the parts I needed. I never did a job like this, but the parts manual pictures made it simple, and then this site made it simple to order the parts. All together looking online, and tearing apart, ordering online, then putting it back together, about 3 hours. I do know how to use tools. Christian S Brentwood , TN November 16, 2018 Appliance: Model JENN AIR JGC8430 2 burners were not lighting Hope this helps others in the same spot. Looking very closely at the 2 burners not lighting up, it was easy to see that while the ignitors were sparking, the spark was very different that the 2 that worked. I turned off all the lights and watched them spark in the dark. The spark on the 2 that worked was brighter, stronger, and primarily sparking at the TOP of the ignitor. The 2 not working were sparking weaker, not as bright and very clearly NOT at the top of the ignitor. I ordered these 2 and replaced them and immediately it worked and all the ignitors now looked the same. Keep in mind that the ignitors replaced were not cracked but were showing "browning" and that indicates wear and tear and impacted the ability to generate a strong spark. Problem took as long to fix as it took me to replace a screw, maybe 7 minutes for 2 burners - piece of cake! Owen L Warwick , NY September 19, 2023 Appliance: Whirlpool Gas Range GS395LEHS5 Broken igniter. With this model of stove, by lifting the entire top of the stove, and accessing the igniter from below. However, the small screw holding the igniter in place was rusted, and was impossible to turn in place, so I had to remove the entire burner assmbly in order to work with it on a bench vise and soak the screw in PB Blaster. After finally getting that undone, the rest went pretty smoothly, until seeing that the stove's wire terminal was too narrow for the new igniter, so I need to cut that off and replace with a typical size terminal end. The rusted screw made what should be a 15 minute job into something much longer. The parts matched up perfectly, and they arrived the day after I ordered them. Read More...
