Jack M Sacramento , CA March 07, 2017 Appliance: KitchenAid 27" Built-In Microwave KBHS179SSS03 Microwave over turntable stopped turning due to broken coupling from motor to turntable Turned oven up on it side to get to bottom and removed bottom cover(5 screws), then 2 screws holding the small motor in place. Extracted the bad coupling that connects the motor to the hub that turns the turntable. Inserted the new coupling, remounted the motor, then installed the bottom cover, turned oven back upright, plugged it in and turntable operates normally. Bjorn D Star , ID November 16, 2015 The coupling that attached the motor to the microwave tray was missing Ordered the coupling. Looked up the coupling on the parts breakout. Ordered it here. Slid the microwave out of the space it is in and tipped it on its side. Then I un screwed the motor from the bottom of the microwave, slid the coupling in and then replaced be motor. James M Chesterfield , MO February 10, 2019 Appliance: KitchenAid Built-In Microwave KBMS1454SSS3 Microwave turntable not turning Removed built in microwave, removed turntable motor and coupler. That was much easier than putting it back together as it was a bit difficult getting the new coupler correctly in place. I am guessing there is an easy way to do it but .... it took me quite awhile.
