Carl F Rochester , NY March 10, 2015 The washing machine would not spin clothes I searched the internet for the most likely cause of the problem and then went to the AppliancePartsPros.com site to see if they had the parts. Naturally they did, but the best part was that they had a video on how to change the part. The video was very clear and straightforward. So easy to follow. I ordered the part mid-day on a Thursday. Imagine my surprise when later that day an email came in letting me know that the part was already shipped! The next day the part was on my front porch!! Unbelievable! I watched the repair video a couple of times and launched in with the repair. Everything went exactly as the video showed. I scheduled about three hours to putz around with the repair, but the actual job was done in about a half hour thanks to the excellent instruction. Now if only the shell of the washing machine slipped on as easily as it did in the video...but that is the fault of my washer, not the video. A tip: The video shows the repair person neatly hooking the water pump onto a piece of the frame to keep it out of the way. My frame wouldn't allow that, so I ended up pulling the hoses off the pump and removing the whole thing. Pretty easy, BUT next time I will remember that there is still water in the hose lines and if you are lying on your side to get to the part and pull the hoses off you will take an unexpected bath! No big deal and it was kind of funny. Bottom line: I could not be more pleased with the parts, shipping, and training video from AppliancePartsPros.com. Fantastic experience! (even with the bath!) Tom L Minneapolis , MN March 10, 2018 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer LSQ8000LQ1 Whirlpool LSQ8000 clothes mover (upper agitator) not working correctly I had replaced the Agitator cams a couple of times already due to my brother-in-law overloading the machine which stripped the teeth off of the cams. I also noticed the agitator seemed to 'wobble' and made 'knocking' noises quite a bit. I reviewed the video on the Appliance Parts Pros web site, disassembled the agitator and cleaned everything up, which helped a little, but not enough. Figuring the agitator itself was worn out also, I looked up and ordered all the parts for the upper agitator on the web site. They arrived very quickly, even with standard shipping. It only took about 15 minutes to replace the parts, then we threw a load of towels in. The difference was amazing! the wobble was still present, but much reduced, the knocking noise was gone and the agitator was actually doing its job! The wife says she thinks the clothes are getting cleaner now and feel softer. I had only one issue with the parts, the 'rib' inside the top of the agitator that holds the fabric softener dispenser in place is about half the size of the one in the original agitator, so the dispenser would not stay in place. I was able to resolve this with a couple of plastic retainer pins and a drill. I held the dispenser in place, drilled two holes thru the edge of the dispenser and into the top edge of the agitator and pushed the pins in. The holes are slightly smaller than the pins so they stay in place. For slightly less than $100 including shipping, Appliance Parts Pros saved me from spending $500-$600 on a new washer which I'm pretty sure the wife would not be happy with...... Andrew L Norwalk , CT June 17, 2019 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer LSQ9544KQ0 Upper agitator not rotating simple repair The upper agitator was moving freely and an obvious repair was needed.. A simple search revealed the part needed, (dogs) I decided to replace a few other parts as well.. (dust cap seal, agitator dog assembly/kit, though the cap itself wasn't needed, nor the dog assembly as they were in good condition but the minimal price difference determined my purchase) I still did laundry while waiting for the part, not a big deal in my mind, just perhaps slightly less efficient but not a detriment to the cloths.. A single bolt holds everything together and it couldn't be easier to access the damaged part. ***If you have the model with the 4 white tabs holding the upper and lower agitators together, don't worry so much about them.. 2 will likely break even though I used a small flat screwdriver to pry them back a little.. mine were melted/fused from manufacturing, but the bolt and washer will hold everything together when you reassemble..*** It took me 3 times longer to clean the parts than it did to simply replace the part, but take the time to clean the agitators, now is your opportunity and you will feel good looking at bright clean agitators for many loads to come.. The new dust cap was actually a slightly thicker plastic than the original so the fabric softener cap wouldn't click into place, not a big deal (I ended up using the original cap with the new seal) As soon as I assembled the parts I could feel the new dogs working which resulted in a nice money saving smile!.. Reassembled the agitator stack and began testing it out.. Finding the parts I needed, instructional videos, and online chat help is why I love APP and fixing my own equipment.. This is one repair that may seem more complicated than it actually is.. you can do it!!.. Robert P Homer Glen , IL March 31, 2017 Appliance: Model WHIRLPOOL UPRIGHT WASHER 2003 Whirlpool washing machine upper agitator was not turning. Found part number on machine, searched your site and a repair kit was found. Watched your excellent repair video that matched my washer model exactly. Ordered the kit and it arrived in 2 days. I followed the video for reference and although my upper agitator was stuck on tighter than the video, everything went according to plan. I ran 2 test loads and it was like new. Great site and easy to use for those of us that don't do this every day. Read More... 90 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Socket Set
