Whirlpool 206638 Siphon Break OEM Part

We ordered parts from appliance parts pros and I fixed it.

I decided to order the siphon break kit (siphon break, washer and clamp included), a new hose, and clamp (for the bottom hose connection) as the hose was original and well over 15 years old. I probably could have used the old clamp, but decided to get a new one in case there were problems with the old during removal. The video provided by A.P.P was helpful in giving confidence this was a task that could be done by myself. As was shown in the video, the hose connection to the siphon break had a band of metal for the clamp, which had to be cut off. This also influenced my decision to purchase a new hose. Having access to the front and rear of the washer was probably the most annoying part of the task as washers are often in place with the back to a wall between other obstacles. Note that there will likely be water spillage when the hose is removed at the bottom connection. My washer is now back in service.

Ordered the part from appliance parts pros on Thursday and the part arrived on Friday the next day. I could not believe it got there so quickly. I simply compared the part and saw that it was a direct fit and replaced it. No more leak.

After a bit of troubleshooting noticed that the siphon break was leaking. Found the part on this site and ordered. The part arrived in 24 hours (WOW!). Two hose clamps, four screws later, no more leak.
