Description

This flipper spring returns the refrigerator's ice dispenser door (chute flapper) to the closed position after dispensing. It helps keep warm air and moisture out to minimize frost at the chute and reduce ice clumping in the bin.

• Provides the closing tension for the ice chute door/flapper
• Helps maintain a proper seal at the dispenser opening
• If worn or broken, you may notice the flapper not closing fully
• Frost/condensation around the chute or ice clumping in the bucket may occur

What's included: One flipper spring

• Disconnect power to the refrigerator before servicing
• Remove dispenser trim/control to access the ice chute door assembly; note spring orientation and anchor points
• Install the new spring in the same orientation; the flapper moves freely and closes under spring tension
• Wear gloves and use caution—metal edges in the dispenser area can be sharp
