Description

This compressor start device energizes the refrigerator compressor's start winding to begin the cooling cycle, then disengages it. Replacing a weak or failed start device can restore reliable starts and address repeated clicking and warm/no-cool symptoms.

• Provides initial power to the compressor's start winding for reliable startup
• Disengages the start circuit once the compressor is running
• Common failure symptoms: compressor won't start, frequent clicking from the rear, refrigerator or freezer not cooling
• Heat damage or burnt odor on the old device may be present when it fails

What's included: One compressor start device assembly

• Unplug the refrigerator before servicing; wear cut-resistant gloves
• Remove the rear access panel to reach the compressor compartment
• Note wire positions; if your model uses a separate run capacitor, transfer it; move wires to the new device one at a time
• Align the device with the compressor terminals and press straight on until fully seated; reinstall any cover or retainer
