Carmen D Hebron , CT July 18, 2015 The refrigerator would not cool the freezer or main compartment lights worked fan worked but the compressor would not run for more than a few seconds when initially plugged in Using a multi-meter, I confirmed that the temperature contol thermostat worked, and resistance across the compressor pins met spec indicating that the compressor was probably good. I opened up the overload relay and saw that the circuit had burned out. I ordered and installed a new overload relay and run capacitor, and everything works great now. William M Fort Myers , FL April 10, 2016 Appliance: Amana Refrigerator ARB2517CC Not cooling compressor not starting after shutdown for new ice maker My only advice would be if you have this complaint order and change both the Overload Relay and the start-up capacitor at the same time. About 2 months ago I changed just the start-up cap and the fridge worked till I shut it down to replace a defective Ice maker. Hopefully I'll get some time before the next repair.
