Description

The Dispenser Arm Strain Relief is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerators. It connects the water and ice dispenser arm to the fridge cabinet, absorbing tension during use.  

Causes of a bad strain relief involve wear and flexing fatigue of the plastic over extensive dispensing cycles. Exposure to moisture or liquid damage inside the fridge liner may prematurely degrade connecting parts as well.

Symptoms of a bad strain relief include:

  • Cracks, splits, or tears in the relieving plastic material  
  • Dispenser arm separation from the cabinet opening
  • Missing pieces that compromised structural integrity 
  • Difficulty accessing or using the refrigerator's water/ice functions

The water dispenser would not shut off.

Replaced the dispenser lever retainer which was broken, dispenser arm strain relief and control bracket which had broken pins.
