Rolland W Hilton Head , SC March 04, 2015 Appliance: KitchenAid Undercounter Dishwasher KUDS01FLBL5 Door kept un latching during wash cycle Tried bending the strike to get a firmer grip, but no luck. Replaced the door latch and strike. Washer is about ten years old. You can feel the new catch has a more positive engagement. When you replace the strike, be sure not to tilt it downward in front. It will go in the way but it will keep the door from closing. Not sure I needed to replace the strike but didn't want to risk more downtime. Ronald K Nipomo , CA August 01, 2015 Appliance: Model KITCHENAID DISHWASHER KUDP01FLB6 The door would unlatch when running I replaced the strike plate first and that did not fix the problem. So, I replaced the latch. That solved the problem. I would like to make a special note to others. Before doing anything, check the gasket on the dishwasher frame. Our dishwasher is ten years old and the gasket is beginning to wear, even though it's not leaking. We noticed that the gasket was "distorted" enough to also interfere with the door closing. If damage to the strike plate or the latch is not obvious, I would recommend checking the gasket before tackling replacement of either the strike plate or the latch.
