Only 3 screws and it's out of the freezer. Disassembled the ice maker on my kitchen counter and replaced the ice stripper. Reassembled and installed back in my freezer. Bill W Albany , OR May 31, 2015 Replace broken ice striper Put ice maker in off position and removed ice maker on/off metal bar. Bar is kind of snug to remove from the end facing you but just push with a little force and it will pop out. Removed the cover that shows the ice maker on/off. Take the 3 screws out and remove the gear box. Loosen the 2 inset screws on the bottom of the black plastic piece that is still attached to the ice maker just enough to get the new ice striper to set in place.
