James R Centreville , VA August 04, 2015 Appliance: Model MAYTAG COOKTOP. 2 of 4 burners lost variable heat finction Trial and error only cooktop unit. Everything mounted into the counter and needed to pull unit out. I figured it was a control switch or the burner itself. Based on costs, I took the less expensive route and replaced the 2 known malfunctioning switches. All on-line videos said it was a 2-3 hour process to replace. I finished mine in less than 30 minutes. Turned breaker back on and it works like a charm. 30 years old and still going strong. Robert P Broken Arrow , OK November 29, 2014 Bad switch and light out Removed cook top and took out 12 screws and took glass top off. Removed plated holding all burner switches in place and removed switch and light. Replaced both and put top back on. Also I ordered the parts late Saturday night and they shipped on Monday and arrived Wednesday afternoon, regular shipping. Will used appliance parts pros again when I need any parts.
