George F Newton , NJ March 06, 2016 Kitchenaid gas range stopped during self clean cycle control panel went dark and oven door remained locked Based on information found at AppliancePartsPros, I determined that the it was most likely the thermostat (thermal fuse). I removed the rear panel and tested the fuse for continuity and it was bad. I used a jumper wire to bypass the fuse and plugged the range back in. The panel turned on and the oven unlocked. I then removed the thermostat and looked up the replacement part and ordered. Robert T Las Cruces , NM May 25, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool 30" Slide-In Gas Oven Non-Conv GW395LEPS00 My wife did an auto clean on our slide in whirlpool gas oven there was no power to the control panel and the oven door was locked I removed the back panel from the oven and jumpered around the thermal fuse. This allowed me to unlock the oven door and restore power to the control panel. So I ordered a new thermal fuse and replaced it. Luckily I searched online and discovered that the most likely culprit was the thermostat. Ordered from appliance part pros at 3:58 p.m. with standard FedEx ground shipping BUT before 10 am the next morning, the part arrived (via ground). It was an easy replacement, even for someone with modest skills, remove the back panels, remove and replace thermostat with two wires and two screws.... hundreds of dollars were save!
