Whirlpool WP8300802 Thermostat (T.O.D.), Spst OEM Part

Based on information found at AppliancePartsPros, I determined that the it was most likely the thermostat (thermal fuse). I removed the rear panel and tested the fuse for continuity and it was bad. I used a jumper wire to bypass the fuse and plugged the range back in. The panel turned on and the oven unlocked. I then removed the thermostat and looked up the replacement part and ordered.

I removed the back panel from the oven and jumpered around the thermal fuse. This allowed me to unlock the oven door and restore power to the control panel. So I ordered a new thermal fuse and replaced it.

After consulting KitchenAid and local repairman, I beleved that the control panel would need to be replaced. Luckily I searched online and discovered that the most likely culprit was the thermostat. Ordered from appliance part pros at 3:58 p.m. with standard FedEx ground shipping BUT before 10 am the next morning, the part arrived (via ground). It was an easy replacement, even for someone with modest skills, remove the back panels, remove and replace thermostat with two wires and two screws.... hundreds of dollars were save!

I tried to fix it myself. Then I had to call repairman, who couldn't come out for a week because we live so remote. He showed up on time (a week later) opened the door & showed me the un-resettable fuse that had activated. He said he's order one and be back in another week. I said NO thanks. I went on-line to ApplianceParts Pros.com. I found the part. The site said I'd have in in an average of 1.7 days. I'm thinking that average would increase because it's being delivered to me. They don't even deliver mail up here, so I wasn't expecting much. The part I ordered from AppliencepartsPros.com came 26 HOURS LATER!!!! It was the next day & it was here! WOW! I was very impressed.
