John S Phoenix , AZ January 06, 2016 T stat hi limit The Maytag electric dryer had the T stat under the top cover above the heating elements. Unplugged the dryer and released the two locking clips under the front of the dryer and lifted the top and secured the top using a bungee to the cabinet over the dryer. Removed the two screws holding the T Stat to the bracket, disconnected the wires, installed the new stat and wires closedand latched the lid, plugged the dryer in and fired it up, works great. Steve T Union City , MI February 25, 2019 Appliance: Crosley Electric Dryer CDE20P7AC Dryer would not start Determined that the problem was the thermal fuse. Replaced the high limit thermostat and thermal fuse, mainly because sometimes the fuse fails because the thermostat fails first. Both parts probably being original on this 20+ year old dryer, I just replaced them both. As a final step, to be sure, I checked the vent for obstructions and found it to be clear.
