Judith K Little Elm , TX May 03, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Gas Dryer LDG7600AAG The gas igniter finally cracked after 24 years of service I went through the machine testing for continuity until I located and could confirm that the gas igniter was faulty. I then replaced it with a 1/4 inch box wrench not completely removing the screw but just getting it to the point I could take it off and put it back on. I then went about replacing the coils which seemed to be tired and the blower thermostat. I didn't replace the fuse or the flame sensor because they were still working. Now the dryer does a better job faster than before. I bought all these parts for at least half the price of a visit from a tech and got the job done in a timely fashion. The hardest part was figuring out how to take the front of the dryer off so I could get to the parts. This involed two srcews at the bottom and 4 inside. Read More... It was one of the cheapest items. I ended up fixing my dryer myself for only $130 or so with tax and shipping. The information given on this site along the videos helped immensely, Thank you.
