Description

This mechanical cycle timer controls the sequence and duration of washer operations. Replacing a failing timer restores proper advancement through fill, agitate, drain, and spin so cycles complete reliably with accurate timing. What it does:

• Advances the washer through each step by routing power to the water valves, motor, and drain pump at the correct times
• Sets the length of each stage for consistent operation
• Common failure signs: cycle won't advance or stops mid-cycle
• Timer knob doesn't move or must be jiggled to run
• Skips functions (no agitate, drain, or spin) while others still work

Install notes:

• Disconnect power before servicing; access the timer from the control console
• Take photos or label wires; transfer them to the new timer one at a time to maintain correct positions
