Dale D Pacific Grove , CA April 01, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer LAT9205AAE Washer would fill with water the timer would progress without going into the wash cycle once the timer got to the spin cycle the washer would pump out the water and spin First I checked the continuity of the lid check switch. I found a video for that on You Tube. The lid check swithch was OK. So from looking at some You Tube videos and comments on Appliance Parts Pros it seemed like it must be the timer. So I ordered a new timer and also a new lid check switch since that was an inexpensive part. There was no video on Appliance Parts Pros for my model number on how to replace the timer. I found something somewhat close on You Tube. It was quite easy. To take the timer control knob off I used a small screw driver to pry off the center cap, Then I used the small screwdriver to pry off the circlip that was on the timer shaft. Then there were just to screw to remove on each side of the timer shaft which I used a nut driver for. Then I pulled off the wire harness from the timer. Note that there is a catch on the bottom of this harness that is not easily seen that needs to be pulled out of the way to remove the harness. There is also a catch on the top but that one is easily seen and real obvious. Then it is just a matter of going in reverse to in stall the new timer. There is a ral good video on AppliancePros Parts.com on how to replace the lid check switch. Mike C Monroe , NC February 04, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer LAT8035AAE This maytag washing machine would stop and not complete the wash cycles or skip cycles altogether we had to manually advance the timer to get the machine to work Since it looked like the timer control was not advancing correctly I ordered the timer for the machine from Appliance Pro, which had the best price I found on the internet. After watching a couple of how to videos I was able to replace the timer in 10 to 15 minutes with no problem, and this 20 year old Maytag was back up and running. One note you should make sure the safety lid switch is working properly before you go to the expense of ordering a timer.
