Kirk P Fort Washington , MD June 29, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Atlantis Washer MAV5000AWW Timer was dead Replaced timer. Unplug the machine! 5 screws to open the back of the top panel. Use a flat screwdriver to pop off the cover of the dial and slide off the retainer clip. Pull off the rest of the dial to expose the screws that hold the timer in place. Pull the large connector off the timer-- mine was kind of tight. I used a flat screwdriver to carefully pry it off. Don't bend the pins! Remove the smaller green grounding connector. Unscrew and remove the timer. Reverse the process with the new timer. Plug it in. Sit back and enjoy accolades of in-laws who just saved $400 on a repair bill. Read More...
