Grant P Milton , WV April 13, 2017 Appliance: KitchenAid Ice Cube Maker KUIC15PRXS1 Discoloration/growth on the water tube This tube is very difficult to work with due to its location behind the cold plate. I loosened the two screws on the left, but there's no way to get the screws on the left loose. I cut the hose off of the pipe at the top of the cold plate and slowly worked it out. The new tube comes folded in half, putting a bad crimp in the middle. The easiest way to get rid of the crimp is to pour boiling hot water onto the crimped area and then open up the tube. I didn't do it, but you might want to dry fit the tube onto the pipe at the top of the cold plate. It's a very tight fit, and I couldn't get the tube all the way on after I got the tube in place. I used a little petroleum jelly on the outside of the tube and used a hair dryer to make it a little more pliable while working it into the ice maker. I worked from the bottom up to place the tube. It took some wiggling, but I was finally able to get the tube to make the turn. After that, it went well from there. One thing of note, the pump has been changed with the wire now coming out of the opposite side compared to the original pump. The installation is not difficult, but there is no slack in the wire when plugging it into the panel. Jeffrey S Tyler , TX September 21, 2019 Appliance: KitchenAid Ice Cube Maker KUIA15NRHS9 Stopped making ice First found that the cutter assembly had failed - had to replace it; ordered one from this site and easily changed it out. Then, diagnosed that the recirculation pump had failed as well. Ordered the parts and with some difficulty (mounting screws in tight spaces) replaced it and installed new tubing. Cleaned all surfaces and now back in business. Making beautiful square cubes again. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers

Kristy S Noblesville , IN August 13, 2022 My under counter ice machine not making ice. I called an appliance repair company and they told me and showed me all the scale build-up on my machine. I regularly clean and change the filter. They said even if they changed pumps there would be no guarantee it would work and recommended I put my money into a new machine. I found this website and ordered the pumps. I replaced the pumps and soaked my tubing in descaler which seemed to help but decided I needed to replace this tubing because where the water comes out onto the frozen plate still has scale inside, it isn't open-ended. Youtube videos and for less than $200 we have ice again! Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
