Daniel D Lawrenceville , GA November 23, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator GD5SHAXLQ02 Ice maker would not fill with water automatically if i poured water into it it would make the cubes but when it was time to refill i was getting nothing After watching a video on the AppliancePartsPros.com site, I decided that it was the Valve-Intake that had to be the issue. So I simply unplugged everything as suggested, and replaced the part. I plugged everything back in, made sure the water dispenser in the front door worked, and then turned on the ice maker. Within 5 minutes, the ice maker went through it's rotation, and this time it filled the ice trace. Yay! Ron H Santa Ana , CA September 27, 2014 Ice tray in kitchen aid fridge did not fill with water reservoir tube was brittle and split causing leaks I checked the wiring and water supply lines and they all appeared in working order. I surmised since no water was making it up to the ice maker tray that the fill valve was defective, or one of the solenoids on the fill valve was, so I replaced the fill valve. At the same time, I replaced the reservoir tube that coils inside the fridge compartment since it had sprung multiple leaks. Not a difficult repair since access to the valve was good. With the water supply back on the ice maker jumped into action and started filling the tray.
