Melanie N Stamford , CT September 20, 2026 Appliance: Maytag Undercounter Dishwasher MDB4409PAS1 6 1 (low/no water) and flashing light indicating “high temp rinse” was unsuccessful I was days into researching new dishwashers when I stumbled upon a recommendation to check diagnostic codes (and where to find the tech sheets). After troubleshooting based on my dishwasher’s recommendations, including cleaning the filter of the original inlet/fill valve, I determined the part would need to be replaced. I was nervous when the replacement part arrived because even though it said it would fit my discontinued inlet valve, it looked different (angles of each connection); however, it was super easy to install, although I had to be careful not to stretch the electrical connection too far since the angle was slightly different from my original part and snug to the bracket. The hardest part was getting the original part out when I cleaned the filter during troubleshooting—lots of YouTube videos to understand how the water inlet elbow worked (the elbow was initially stuck and didn’t rotate freely), how to remove the electrical connection (not obvious to a novice like myself, especially with the dishwasher installed and unable to see the connection easily), and how to troubleshoot a sticky drain pipe (gently twist and wriggle the inlet valve, and don’t be too afraid to use some force). Plus a bit of back pain from laying on the ground for 45 min! But that meant when the replacement part arrived, it took all of 20min to remove the old part, install the new one, turn back on the power and water, and start a test load! Chris B Franklinton , NC July 06, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool Undercounter Dishwasher WDF530PLYB5 Water slowly leaking into washer when not running had to shut water valve to keep from over filling and leaking on floor when not run each day Replaced fill valve. Or solenoid valve. 2 , 1/4 turn plastic buttons remove lower cover shut off power. Shut off water. Remove screw with nut driver or flat head. Slide valve back slightly and lower. Remove water inlet line and outlet line and two wire connector. Reconnected new one. Ensure water gasket clean and seals tight. Clamp on outlet proper. Wire snapped in. Lift valve to slide forward into grooves. Replace screw holding valve. Replace cover.kickplate.
